Hi, I’m Jodie Hettrick, I’ve been involved in the emergency services for almost 30 years, with Central Mat-Su FD, Valdez FD, Red Dog FD, Alaska Division of Fire and Life Safety and Anchorage FD.  I am currently serving as Deputy Chief with Anchorage Fire Department.

I have a unique perspective when it comes to stress management since I grew up in a family severely traumatized by actions which led to addiction and substance abuse on both sides, for multiple generations.

I joined Alaska Firefighter Peer Support to assist my sisters and brothers as they work through trauma and stress related to the things we experience while serving our communities.
