My name is Emily Thompson. I was born and raised in Anchorage Alaska and graduated from West High School in 2003. I spent the following 4 years in California attaining my BA in Communications from Sonoma State University while also participating as a collegiate athlete for the women’s soccer program. After enjoying the California sun for a few years, I returned to Anchorage to put my degree to use. I enjoy all things outdoors; fly fishing, hiking, snowboarding, water sports, quality time at my Big Lake cabin, and puppies. I was hired with AFD in March of 2016 and introduced to the peer support program soon after.
