Brian Willmon is an Engineer with the Anchorage Fire Department. He has worked in the Fire Service since 2000 where he started with the Sunriver Fire Department as a paid reserve, 3 seasons with the Oregon Department of Forestry as an Initial Attack Engine Operator/Wildland FF and then moved to a career Firefighter/ EMT position with Jackson County Fire District #3 in Medford, Oregon where he also served as certified Swift Water Rescue Technician.
I am a native Washingtonian and grew up in SE Alaska on the island of Wrangell until 1981. I returned to Washington through college and then lived in Oregon before moving back to Anchorage to start with AFD in 2007.
I have been with my wife for 31 years and 25 of that married. My wife and I have a 19 year old son and 20 year old daughter.
Between work in the fire service, a long term marriage, parenting and just living life in general, I have had many opportunities to explore both the good and bad that life can often deal us and the ones we care most about. If I am able to take my experiences and some of the perceptions and understandings I have gained and apply them to listening to someone in need, be a support to them…then I feel it’s making the most of those experiences. Please always feel free to reach out. We are all in this together.
