My name is Brian Leigh, and I am a lifelong Alaskan and a member of the Anchorage Fire Department. I became a Firefighter in Anchorage to follow in my father’s footsteps(Retired AFD) after several years as a Volunteer both in Girdwood and in Oregon. I am happily married and a proud father to 4 teenage daughters, and I enjoy any activities that bring us all together. I am also one of the founding members of the Anchorage Firefighters Honor Guard and currently lead that group. I have experience working with people during extreme grief and sadness, and throughout my career I have experienced my own personal losses, medical and injury setbacks and professional challenges to name a few. As a Peer Support Member I am here to try my best to help you maintain a healthy mind to tackle life’s challenges.
