AFD is once again hosting an IAFF Peer Support Class and is scheduled for November 6-7, 2018. AFD Union Members will have priority for the class, followed by State Locals, and then any Non-Union Alaska Fire Departments.

- Class Size: 30
- Location: AFD Training Center
- Times: 0900-1700
- Cost: No cost to IAFF Members, $250 for all others. Payments made to IAFF Local 1264 by October 23rd.
- Pre-Course Requirement: To lay a foundation for the IAFF Peer Support Training, participants must complete the online IAFF Behavioral Health Awareness Course. The two-hour course is self-paced and tailored for the fire service. A link will be emailed to participants in advance so that they can complete the course prior to the live training.
- Lunch: You will be responsible for your own lunch on Tuesday the 6th, there are many local restaurants are nearby. Lunch on Wednesday the 7th will be provided by L1264.
- Sign Up/Registration: To register for the class you must fill out a Peer Support Training Application located at: www.akffps.org Link will be on the upper right corner of the home page. Applications will be honored in the order they are received.
- AFD Registration “Guaranteed Seat” Deadline: September 23rd. Applications received after this date will fall in queue with other state IAFF members and state FD’s applications.
- Course Registration Deadline: October 23rd. No applications or admission accepted due to pre-course and administrative requirements.
