Is this just for paid firefighters?   No, it's for all fire service personnel and their immediate families.

 

Do I have to be a firefighter to be a Peer Supporter?  No, as long as you're affiliated with the fire service and willing to be a confidential peer.

Who is behind AKFFPS and how did you get started?  The Anchorage Fire Department established a Behavioral Health Task Group to address their department specifically and grew to recognize the efforts could be utilized throughout the entire state. We were mentored by the Illinois FFPS and IAFF FFPS Teams and they have been instrumental in our growth.

 

Can you tell me about donations?  We are a registered 501(c)3 organization. Your donations are tax deductible. Currently all funds are going toward website maintenance, computer hardware and software, office supplies, and educational and outreach materials.

 

Where can I get shirts or hats (swag)?  We currently have Shirts, Stickers, and Challenge Coins. Until we can make them available online, please contact us.
